We are a community that is healthy, strong and vital. We as participants in this life have the courage to live outside the belief that health, fitness and vitality must decline with age. For us, fitness is a state of mind and a way of being. It is part of everything we do. The way we talk, walk, sleep, eat, work, play, dress, party, relax and grow as people. For us, the bottom line is this is simple. It’s through physical fitness that we can live our best.


What is CrossFit?

If you want the official definition, then here it is, “CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life in general reward this kind of fitness.”


Our Story



Why CrossFit?

For us fitness is a state of mind, a way of being. It’s apparent in the way you talk, walk, sleep, eat,

work, play, dress and relax. It is the physical embodiment of the character traits of honor, courage, confidence, discipline, integrity, responsibility, dedication, and joy. It is also instrumental in reducing the immediate and cumulative effects of stress and anxiety.


We’ve found that the fitter a person is, the more he/she is CrossFitphysically able to do the things that bring joy and fun to life – everything from feeling strong, confident and energetic through your normal work day, running around with your kids, being physically active and playing sports, to traveling to remote corners of the earth.


Being physically fit is inspiring, feels good, enriches your life, and adds both years to your life, and life to your years. People that are fit seem to have a clearer, more optimistic view of life. For us, the bottom line is this: Fitness allows you to live your best.


CrossFitA Workout at SOCF

You will find that each day at South Orlando CrossFit is varied. You never doing the same workout twice. You can expect the WOD or “workout of the day” to last an hour. During that time you will be coached by a Level 1 Certified CrossFit Coach.


Each class consists of the following:

  • Group Dynamic Warm-Up or Mobility – This is catered to the WOD we will be doing that day or to stretch out what we worked the previous day
  • Strength or Gymnastics/Skill – This is not on a set schedule and rotates depending on the day/week
  • Dailly Workout of the Day (WOD) – We will go over the movements for the workout with everyone to ensure everyone understands the standard for that movement. Then it’s 3, 2, 1, GO!


CrossFitDuring the workout one to two coaches will be on the floor coaching the athletes on form, technique, and pushing them to work as hard as they can during the WOD. We want our athletes to leave it all on the floor and give 100% to each WOD!
